Recent Conferences Attended by NRTC
During the first week of May, B.J. LeJeune and Jacqui Bybee attended the Mississippi Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (MAER) Spring Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi. Diverse topics at the conference included a presentation by B.J. LeJeune on the historical roots of the Piney Woods School, which educated children who were blind in Piney Woods, Mississippi. In other conference news, the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) Leadership Conference was held the same week in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Adele Crudden attended the AFB conference, which addressed issues such as creating and protecting specialized service delivery, assistive technology, and the expanded core curriculum.
