We are pleased to welcome Dr. Li Zhou, our current Anne Sullivan Macy Scholar. This competitive postdoctoral program honors the extraordinary contribution of Anne Sullivan Macy to the educational experience of Helen Keller by supporting the development of a promising scientist-practitioner whose research focuses on blindness and low vision. Originally from Beijing China, Dr. Zhou earned his Ed.D. in Special Education (VI) at Texas Tech University. His graduate research focused on integration of assistive technology (AT) in teacher preparation programs, and assessing AT competency levels of teachers of students with visual impairments. Currently, Dr. Zhou teaches an introductory course on Special Education, and is collaborating with RRTC staff on various research projects. He is grateful to colleagues and the local Chinese community for assisting with a smooth transition to Starkville, and we are delighted to have Dr. Zhou as a postdoctoral associate at the RRTC!
