Research Professor at NIB Presentation during MAER
Pictured above, Dr. Jamie O'Mally is under blindfold and wearing a glove to simulate conditions which might be experienced by workers who are blind and who have limited use of a dominant hand. This activity was part of a presentation by National Industries for the Blind (NIB)at the 2011 annual conference of the Mississippi Chapter of the Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired, which occurred in Flowood, MS, in late August. Session participants were asked to disassemble pens, and to place some parts of the pen into an orange box and the other piece into a white cup.
Dr. O'Mally joined MSU-RRTC as research professor this past spring. She presented briefly about ongoing recruitment for the RRTC's NIDRR-funded mentoring project (see http://www.blind.msstate.edu/research/projects/project.php?id=2).This was Dr. O'Mally's first MAER conference, and she reports having thoroughly enjoyed it!
